Auditions for "Cannibal! The Musical"

Pineapple-Shaped Lamps, winner of the 2018 Wilmington Theater Award for Best Play, is proud to announce auditions for Cannibal! The Musical, the hit cult comedy created by Trey Parker, co-creator of South Park and The Book of Mormon!

Auditions for Cannibal! will be held July 31st and August 1st from 7pm - 9pm at the Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center, located at 120 S 2nd St, in downtown Wilmington. The production, directed by Wesley Brown, runs October 4th through October 21st, also at the Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center.

Audition Participants should come prepared to sing 16-32 bars of a song of your choice a cappella. You will be asked to do readings from the script.

You may also be asked to attend a callback on Thursday, August 2nd.


Some roles can be gender-bent, we are looking for all types of performers.

ALFERD PACKER: A dangerous, bloodthirsty monster! ...or is he?!
POLLY PRY: A persistent reporter.
LIANNE: A horse? A woman? You decide.
SHANNON WILSON BELL: A Mormon preacher.
FRANK MILLER: A grumpy man. He doesn't like to sing.
JAMES HUMPHREY: Such an idiot.
ISRAEL SWAN: An eternally happy man-child.
GEORGE NOON: A naive, inexperienced young man.
FRENCHY CABAZON: A nasty trapper, who enjoys antagonizing Packer.
O.D. LOUTZENHEISER: Frenchy's yes-man. A bit more politically correct.
PRESTON NUTTER: Frenchy's yes-man. He sings off-key.
COLE MULLANEY BROWN: An old prospector, the narrator of our blood-drenched tale.

There are also many parts available for ensemble, chorus, dancers, etc. Experience with stage combat, gymnastics or ballet also good.
